SUMMARY
Project Goal
The goal of this project was to apply technical writing skills learned in class to a formal report with a subject that I can associate with.
Final Deliverable
The final deliverable was a 16 page formal report covering the Analysis of Scrum vs. Popular Development Processes.
Timeframe
This paper was written over the course of roughly 3 months. All information, drafting, and writing was done during this time.
Challenges
A challenge that arose during the writing of this paper was the amount of information necessary to complete it. Before this project, I had never written a paper this long. I had to use several sources of information and several sections that tie together to exceed the required length.
What did I do well?
I believe I did well with the research portion of the report. I found primary sources covering each aspect, some coming from the authors of the development process themselves. The information was extremely helpful in my understanding of the topic.
I also believe the chosen graphics help define the information in the report. I chose to use a mix of sourced graphics, and personally created graphics. They relate directly to the text, help create understanding to the reader, and enforce my knowledge of the content.
What skills did I learn/practice?
I practiced active research and analysis during this paper. Being able to locate useful sources, analyze their content, and implement it as my own interpretation into the paper is an important skill.
General technical writing was also practiced. The subject of the class this was written in was about technical writing, so this paper is the accumulated knowledge of the entire quarter.
